So far, four SOIMA courses have been successfully organized in Brazil (SOIMA 2007), India (SOIMA 2009), Latvia and Lithuania (SOIMA 2011) and Nairobi, Kenya (SOIMA 2013). The next SOIMA-LATAM Course will be held in Mexico City, México, from 3 November 2014 to 18 November 2014.
We are happy to inform you that a new edition of the SOIMA international training course will be held in November 2014 in Mexico City, Mexico.
If you are working with sound and image collections in Latin America and the Caribbean, and are interested in enhancing your knowledge then this course is for you!

The ‘Digitizing Contemporary Art’ (DCA) project aims to digitize contemporary art objects from 12 European countries and make them accessible to the wider public through Europeana. The project coordinator is PACKED, a Brussels-based centre of expertise for digital cultural heritage. The project partners include 21 art institutions and museums, and 4 technical institutions. The project started in January 2011 and will continue until July 2013. The project is sponsored by the European Commission.

More than 30 leading specialists and experts in Sound and Audiovisual archives from 15 countries were present at the Fourth International Workshop of Sound and Audiovisual Archives. Six tutorials were held and attended by more than 100 professionals from Mexico and Latin America.
